The Community Support Service is a pilot service developed by Devon Choice and Support.
The service offers a team of specially trained and supported volunteers who are available to provide companionship and support to people with limited mobility living in Mid or North Devon. We hope that we can expand this Service to other parts of Devon in the future. The Service aims to reduce the social isolation experienced by many adults with limited mobility and to assist people to continue to remain independent in their own homes.
A Personal Assistant (PA) is someone employed to help a person live independently and achieve the activities they want to do.
The Devon Personal Assistant Bank makes recruiting a Personal Assistant easier by bringing everyone together in one place. The service allows individuals to search a list of Personal Assistants or agencies, advertise job vacancies and contact people they wish to interview. The Personal Assistant Bank can also provide further support with both the recruitment and employment of Personal Assistants.
